Nacientes Palmichal Community Experience

Nacientes Palmichal has been working with their producers and inhabitants in incorporating activities that are helping them become more sustainable. Environmental education is not taught in a traditional way and teaches students to love and respect their environment.

We offer the subjects in the list below:

• First subject: Environment
• Second subject: Biosphere and ecosystems
• Third subject: Natural resources
• Fourth subject: Damage to our natural resources
• Fifth subject: Adequate management of natural of natural resources
• Sixth subject: General Focus
• Seventh subject: Values
• Eighth subject: Development of the seven kinds of intelligences, spiritual gifts and self esteem.
• Ninth Subject: Empathy in learning

Educational and volunteer programs

For (university-) students we offer special educational and volunteer programs. Groups of students can stay here for several days or weeks to extend their knowledge of ecological interconnections, plants and animals, protection of the environment and much, much more! They can participate in communitarian projects, work on organic farms or be part of one of our other projects. Approximate price: 30 $ / day / pers.

Moreover students can come alone to work up to several months as a volunteer in our project. Here it is not only possible to learn about the work in environmental education and protection, and rural tourism, but also to get to know economic principles, the cooperation with public or private institutions and not at least the culture and language of this special place in Costa Rica. Besides, we always cooperate with regional, national and international organizations and the volunteer will be able to participate in establishing further connections and maintain already existing ones. Approximate price: 300 $ / month

We offer lodging in our hotel or in host-families for all our programs.
